Welcome! My name is Quinn Kressler, and this website is a testbed for my HTML class. I may or may not turn this site into something more serious at a later date.
In the meantime, this page is about what I enjoy wasting my time on when I have no other obligations. These include things like video games and creative writing and worldbuilding, but this page is gonna be focused specifically on the games I've been play-testing recently. Below are links to tables, screenshots, lists, and my Medal page where I upload my clips.
Star Citizen is a first-person shooter, a space-flight simulator, and an MMO all rolled into one. It's a game that I have a love/hate relationship with; on one hand, it's my dream game where I can live my roleplay dream as a wannabe space pirate. On the other hand, it's a complete mess that's been in development for 15 years.
Deadlock is a third-person shooter MOBA that, like Star Citizen, is still in active development. MOBAs (Multiplayer Online Battle Arenas) are a genre I have a bit of a bad history with; I spent a lot of my post-high-school years playing League of Legends (even met my ex-wife through it), and generally these games have a tendency to host some incredibly toxic and downright unpleasant people to play with. However, Deadlock seems to be an outlier as it plays like an Arena shooter like Unreal Tournament and Quake but with a MOBA ruleset instead of the standard isometric camera mode -- which is super neat -- and the player community, in my experience, is much more receptive to newbies than League of Legends or Dota 2 players. On top of that, this game has some of the best movement I've seen in a shooter since Unreal Championship 2. The thing that I really love about this game, though, is the character design and the world-building.
